Chasing Coral Questions
1.)Was there a specific scene that got to you? Describe and explain how it moved you (Angry? Curious? Delighted? Motivated?).
One specific moment in the movie the caught my attention in Chasing Coral, is in the beginning where they talk about how people look up into space and wonder about aliens, but they don't even know what is in the ocean and talk about how most people don't want to explore the ocean. In this part of the movie it makes me feel very lost and scared of the unknown that lies in the ocean, And it makes me wonder what could really be down there?
2. )What surprised you? Why do you think it caught you off guard?
What I really think that caught me off guard in the film is how big the ocean really is, and how fast stuff seems to be disappearing/ dying. Somethings that surprised me in this film is that Vevers the one guy from the film says "Phil told me that we've lost 80 to 90% of corals in Florida." which shocked me because I had no idea how bad this really was until the started talking about this.
3.)What questions remain after the viewing? What feelings stayed with you after the film? Did they “pop up” in your life in unexpected ways? When? How? What was that like?
One thing that still kind of hangs with me after viewing the film is how and why do these corals die off so fast and how are we able to prevent that from happening. Somethings that stay with me during the film is that how these plants have such a huge affect on the ocean life below, and how it has an affect on us humans/people as well. Sometimes I do see this pop up in my everyday life, because people tend to talk about it on Tv and it makes me think how we play such a big role damaging these coral reefs What it is like for me when I see this commercials on my TV, is it makes me want to make a change for the better of the world.
4.)Why might we avoid including research in our summaries? What could go wrong?
Why I think that we might avoid looking up research for this film is because all the research we need is right in the film. All the juice and the goods are right in the film and it provide enough evinced for itself. Personally I don't see how anything could be wrong or let alone have anything go wrong just because this film was so well put together and it is really hard for me to find something that could be wrong with this film. All in all I love this film just because it is able to go in-depth and describes on how and why stuff seems to be disparaging and how they might be able to fix it.
